Light Paintings

Guardian of the Light For this photograph, I was inspired by Marvel's character 'Angel' who inhibits the power of flight from full grown wings. I tried to reflect the character's traits within the pose by giving more space for the wings. I decided to make the model sit on the side to give off a different vibe out of the other photos- a more relaxing and calm atmosphere.	Goddess of Thunder A character that brought my inspiration was yet another Marvel character, 'Storm' who is a mutant that has the ability to manipulate the weather. As a strong independent woman, I brought her character by making the model to stand in the center to indicate a sense of power. As the lightning bolts on both sides give off a bold dynamic mood.	Speed of Light This photograph was inspired by Flash from DC, and his powers was what led me to the direction of my theme. The white lines on the right of the model indicate the speed of the subject. This was one of the most difficult photographs out of all of the collection because I started off not knowing how to use the lights. After multiple trials, I ended up with this and was happy of how it turned out.

For these series of photographs of light painting, I explored the theme of Superheroes. My inspiration for my idea was from my interest of the vibrant graphics from comic books and the fact that these fictional characters radiate strong characteristics that define who they are. I achieved this theme through by outlining the basic figure of the model in a simple pose, and incorporating designs with a different coloured light that define the character.
