Camera vs. Paper
Pop Up Daffy
In this artwork of mine, the main subject matter is Daffy Duck, a character from the Looney Tunes, who is pushing his way out of a book. I decided to juxtapose the two elements by finding something similar between the two subject matter, but yet they both differ from one another as well. In this case, the book on the table is a Looney Tunes: The Ultimate Visual Guide, that is specifically flipped onto a page all about Daffy, so I decided to make this certain character jump out. There is only colour on the book and the subject as everything else is in black and white, making the emphasis surround the two objects more.
The intended reading of this photo is therapeutic because it relates to my inner passions for art and animation. I enjoy the idea of bringing ideas from the mind onto paper, and then transforming them to almost real life figures; therefore I got the chance of playing with this idea within this assignment.
I believe my areas of success is the meaning behind the photo and that fact that there are various readings the reader could have. However, no matter what kind of reading, there main central idea still lies upon the photo. For areas of improvement, I could have took a better photo with a better setting to give off a clean professional look.
